Troop 405 Hatches New Eagle

Troop 405 is pleased to announce that Wesley has completed his Eagle Board of Review.

Wesley went through the Cub Scout Program and earned his Arrow of Light before moving to Georgetown. He joined Troop 405 on November 19, 2001.

Wesley's positions of responsibility have included Scribe (twice), Patrol Leader, Instructor and Senior Patrol Leader, his current position. He served as Acting SPL during the troop's summer camp trip to Camp Pirtle in 2006. He completed Leave no Trace Training in 2003.

Wesley attended summer camps at Camp Pioneer in 2003, Camp Sol Mayer in 2005 and Camp Pirtle in 2006. At Camp Pioneer, Wesley received the Uncas Award for his outstanding Scout Spirit throughout the week. Wesley's high adventure trips included Philmont Expedition 714-C-2 in 2005 and a week at the Claytor Lake Aquatics Base in Virginia in 2006. He served as Crew Navigator at Philmont, and also prepared a journal of the trek which has been posted to Selden Ball's Philmont web page.

Wesley will attend the Mountain Man program at the Buffalo Trail Scout Ranch in June.

Wesley's Scouting awards include four Polar Bear Awards, two Outstanding Troop Meeting Attendance Awards, Honor Camper at Camp Sol Mayer, Honor Camper at Camp Pirtle, the Summer Camp Leadership Excellence Award, Good Turn for America Awards in 2004, 2005 & 2006, the Duty to God Promotion Award in 2005, the Camp Sol Mayer Mail King Award, a 100% Tent Inspection Award and the Snorkeling BSA Award. Wesley is an Ordeal member of the
Tonkawa Lodge, Order of the Arrow.

During his tenure as a Scout, Wesley has earned 28 merit badges, recorded 70 days and nights of camping, provided 68 service hours, hiked 95 miles, averaged 100% on uniform inspections and attended 85% (184 of 217) of our troop meetings.

Wesley's Eagle Service Project consisted of installing 15 mutt mitt doggy dispensers around 6 miles of the San Gabriel Trail in Georgetown. This was a nice project for our Parks and Recreation Department as well as individuals using our local hiking trail.

Wesley is a sophomore at Hutto High School where has been very active in the Track and Field Program. His grades have been excellent and he has received academic awards in Math, Science and Art. Wesley is a member of St. Helen Catholic Church.

He has a long time interest in aviation and plans to pursue a career as a naval aviator after attending Texas A&M. His ultimate goal in aviation is to be a member of the Blue Angels, the Navy's elite flight demonstration squadron.
