Venturing Quest 2007

The Northeast Region, Area 4 Venturing Officers Association invite Venturers, Sea Scouts, and their guests to attend the 2nd annual Area 4 Venturing Quest. The 2007 Quest weekend will be held at Camp Bashore, Jonestown, Pa, Friday, April 13, through Sunday, April 15, 2007.

The purpose of the Quest weekend is to bring Venturers together to share ideas, learn, and build relationships to aid communication and the growth of Venturing at all levels. The Area 4 Quest has been designed by the AVOA to emphasize FUN, FRIENDSHIP, and ADVENTURE, not award requirements or advancement. Through the variety of activities your crew may become inspired to explore some areas deeper and you will meet potential consultants and establish contacts who may help your crew in their pursuits. In addition you will gain useful information, valuable ideas, and new skills to take back to your crew, community, and council.

The Quest is a weekend packed with fun activities and opportunities for adventure and friendship. The celebration begins on Friday evening with a party and culminates on Sunday morning with the annual Area 4 meeting and election of officers. The theme for this year is “Fiesta Questa”, so be prepared for a little Mexican-style “spice” at the theme party on Saturday night.

Saturday activities include: Climbing/Cope, handgun shooting, archery, guided mountain biking, fishing (trout fishing in the camp lake and local streams), boating, kayaking, Salsa dancing, Geocaching, night navigation, Ultimate Frisbee, text messaging competition, video gaming, and more. Horseback riding and SCUBA are available off-site (at an additional cost). In addition adults (and youth) may choose from the following options: advisors coffee lounge, Consultant Fair, training sessions, siesta time, and discussion forums.

Interested crews are requested to contact us with questions and to allow us to provide details about the event schedule, requirements for off-site activities, registration form, and important information to assist their preparation.
